Corfe Mullen, UK – BH Live Active, Corfe Mullen is leading the way in sustainability by becoming the first BH Live Active leisure centre to achieve Green Mark Level 2 accreditation.

Green Mark has become a cornerstone of business operations across the UK as they move towards being environmentally sustainable for the long-term. Green Mark reviews organisations’ sustainability performances, identifying steps on how businesses can save energy, reduce waste, and become more environmentally responsible in their everyday processes.

As of April 2024, all leisure centres and venues managed by BH Live have achieved Green Mark Level 1 accreditation as part of its commitment to reducing energy waste and improving sustainability.

BH Live is a registered charity and social enterprise. Any surplus generated by BH Live is reinvested back into those centres and venues for the benefit of the community. Recent sustainable investment includes pool covers to reduce heat loss and LED lighting to cut down electricity consumption. Together with their local authority partners there has also been solar panel installation to generate sustainable energy.

The framework is a key part of our Environmental Strategy Management Plan, that helps us take steps towards making our centres and venues more sustainable. .”
