NEW café coming to Sir David English Sports Centre

Brand new café facilities are coming soon to Sir David English Sports Centre, situated on East Way in Bournemouth.

Following customer feedback, a brand-new café with indoor seating and tables will open this summer. This new community-focused space is expected to appeal to families, young people, visiting sports clubs and teams, as well as residents.

During the week, self-serve vending will be available for customers to buy hot and cold drinks.

At weekends and during the school holidays other items available include grab-and-go hot food plus tea, coffee and slush puppies perfect for children’s parties, clubs and those visiting the inflatable party attraction, AirJumpX.

Sir David English Sports Centre is a popular sports venue with a multi-purpose sports hall, gym, and a multi-functional studio for daily group exercise classes. The centre works closely with local sports clubs and neighbouring schools to accommodate fixtures and training on its 3G rubber crumb pitches, netball courts and tennis courts to encourage more young people to get active.

Sir David English is operated by BH Live in partnership with Bournemouth School Charitable Trust.

Rob Cunningham, Director of Leisure and Business Development, said;
“Customers and visitors have been asking for a café at Sir David English Sports Centre for many years now. We are so pleased to be reinvesting back into the centre and transforming what is currently a dated and underused area into a bright welcoming new space for all where visitors can meet friends, relax, and cool down after a workout, or when attending an event, with something to eat and drink. The new facilities mean we can also grow our party and group activity offering when attending attractions such at AirJumpX, the sports hall and outdoor pitches and courts.”
