Portsmouth residents are invited to kickstart their Autumn with a special free-to-attend fitness class held at the Mountbatten Leisure Centre.
To celebrate the 100th release of Les Mills™ BODYCOMBAT, an event will be held on Sunday 22 September 2024 from 9:15am-11:30am. Participants can expect to jab, uppercut, and hook their way into Autumn with this special two-hour event.
A BODYCOMBAT technique workshop will run for the first hour, leading both beginners and experienced participants through key movements to correct form, and warm-up. This will be followed by a 15-minute break before kicking off with the BODYCOMBAT 100 release at 10:30am.
BODYCOMBAT combines elements of functional training and martial arts including Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira and Kung Fu for a fun and easy-to-follow workout. It is suitable for all abilities and people aged 14 years and upwards. It is not recommended for those who are pregnant.
The event has been organised by BH Live, a registered charity and social enterprise, whose mission is to encourage more people to participate in physical activity.
As well as the Mountbatten Leisure Centre, BH Live also operates Pyramids (including soft play and bounce centre Exploria), Charter Community Sports Centre, Portsmouth Tennis & Gymnastic Centre and Wimbledon Park Sports Centre in partnership with Portsmouth City Council.
On behalf of BH Live, Rob Cunningham, Director of Leisure and Business Development shared:
