The team at BH Live Active, Queen’s Park is celebrating one year of helping local people take part in regular physical activity, with customers completing more than 13,800 training days on its new EGYM smart fitness facility that launched last year.

The milestone highlights the positive response to BH Live’s continued investment in accessible, personalised fitness technology designed to make exercise feel easier, more motivating and more rewarding for customers. As a registered charity and social enterprise, BH Live continues to invest in facilities that support healthier, more active communities and improve the experience people have when visiting its sport and leisure centres.

Since launching in September 2025, more than 1,300 members have been onboarded onto the EGYM system, with over 12,500 user interactions recorded across the facility. Members are using the exercise equipment to build strength, improve overall fitness, support their long-term health goals and enjoy a more guided workout experience.

Designed to make exercise easier to start and simpler to stick with, EGYM automatically adjusts each machine to an individual’s height, range of movement and fitness level. Following an initial assessment with a BH Live fitness instructor, customers get a personalised programme based on key indicators including strength, flexibility, mobility and cardiovascular fitness.

The system also generates a ‘BioAge’ score, which compares a user's fitness level against their actual age, helping members track progress and stay motivated throughout their fitness journey.

Data from EGYM’s first year highlights the positive impact the facility is having on people’s health and wellbeing. Customers using the smart strength equipment achieved an average Strength BioAge of 39, despite the average age of users being 49. Similarly, Fitness Hub users recorded an average Flexibility BioAge of 46, despite the average age of users being 48.

BH Live’s investment in EGYM reflects its focus on customer satisfaction as well as community health and wellbeing. By combining smart equipment with support from trained fitness instructors, the facility gives members a more personalised, reassuring and easy-to-follow way to exercise. First-year usage and customer feedback show that EGYM is helping people feel more confident, track their progress and enjoy a better overall fitness experience.

Customers say the facility is making a real difference to how they feel about exercise. Annette, who joined BH Live Active, Queen’s Park as a member in October 2025, said:

“I love EGYM. It enables me to build strength in a controlled environment, personalised for me, and in a less intimidating environment.”

Another member, Melanie, added:

“It’s a great way to work out using a predesigned programme that feels personalised. It’s a great training motivator, as participants can see their achievements in the EGYM app first-hand. My BioAge has dropped amazingly since joining. EGYM is a great addition to the gym.”

Mary Cobbin, Centre Manager at BH Live Active, Queen’s Park, said:

“We’re delighted to celebrate one year of EGYM at BH Live Active, Queen’s Park and to see how strongly customers have embraced it. It has been fantastic to see so many members using the facility to support their fitness journeys, build confidence and stay motivated.”

“This investment is about giving customers a better, more supportive fitness experience while encouraging more people in the community to be active. EGYM adapts to each person’s ability and goals, and when combined with the guidance of our fitness team, it helps people feel reassured, see their progress and keep coming back.”

The popularity of EGYM at BH Live Active, Queen's Park has already helped drive further investment, with BH Live introducing a new EGYM fitness circuit and Fitness Hub at Portsmouth's Mountbatten Leisure Centre earlier this year.

On behalf of EGYM, Steve Barton, UK Country Director, shared;

"This first year shows the difference EGYM can make when it becomes part of everyday training at a facility like BH Live Active, Queen's Park. It's encouraging to see members build confidence and strength through guided workouts, and track their progress clearly through improvements to their BioAge. When more people in a community stay active, that's where a real contribution to health begins, and we look forward to supporting BH Live as they bring this experience to more centres across the UK."
