Supporting Southampton City Council and BH Live’s mission to improve community wellbeing, these improvements will inspire more people of all ages and abilities across the city to get active for better health.
BH Live has partnered with Pulse Fitness to completely revamp each of the centre’s gyms at BH Live Active, The Quays, Bitterne Leisure Centre, and Chamberlayne Leisure Centre.
Customers can expect brand-new gym equipment, workout zones, improved décor and more. All cardio equipment will have integrated digital screens, allowing you to watch TV, access streaming apps, and charge your phone wirelessly*.
On behalf of BH Live, Rob Cunningham, Director of Leisure and Business Development, shared;
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Southampton City Council to modernise the gym facilities at BH Live Active leisure centres across the city.
“As a charity and social enterprise, our focus is always on improving the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve. Thanks to Southampton City Council’s investment, these gyms will be transformed into more welcoming, accessible and inspiring spaces, enabling people of all ages and abilities to be active and feel supported.”
On behalf of Southampton City Council, Councillor Kataria, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said;
“We are delighted to see this investment in our leisure facilities, which will provide residents with a modern, high-quality space to support their health and wellbeing. The refurbished gym reflects our ongoing commitment to improving local services and encouraging more people to stay active.”
The transformation for each gym will be carried out in phases to minimise disruption. While there will be temporary gym closures, the rest of the centres will remain open and operating as usual. More information is available online.
