BH Live has strengthened its technology-led fitness offering at the Pyramids Centre in Southsea with the introduction of Technogym Biostrength® equipment, bringing AI-driven strength training and personalised wellness insights to BH Live Active members in Portsmouth.

The investment forms part of BH Live's continuing commitment to modernising leisure facilities and creating innovative, accessible fitness environments that support people of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels.

It also builds on a wider programme of investment across BH Live Active centres in Portsmouth, including a £750,000 refurbishment of fitness facilities at Mountbatten Leisure Centre, the opening of a new Reformer Pilates studio at Pyramids Centre, and a new gym and changing room refurbishment at Wimbledon Park Sports Centre.

Technogym Biostrength® uses intelligent training technology to personalise workouts, automatically adapting equipment settings to individual users and providing real-time feedback through the Technogym ecosystem. The equipment is designed to make strength training more intuitive and approachable while helping exercisers train safely and effectively.

A key part of the Biostrength® experience is Technogym Checkup, a digital assessment that evaluates visitors’ physical condition and helps create tailored training programmes aligned to their fitness goals. Technogym Checkup assesses visitors’ Wellness Age™ by testing key metrics, assessing body composition, mobility, balance, memory, strength, and cardio fitness.

Since launching, member engagement with Biostrength® at the Pyramids Centre has been strong. More than 500 members have used the Biostrength® app since launching in July 2026, while 150 users have completed a Technogym Checkup assessment in the past four weeks alone. The centre's fitness team has also delivered more than 35 dedicated inductions, helping members get onboarded on Biostrength® to understand how they can use the smart strength equipment to maximise their training.

Early user data indicates particularly strong engagement among members aged 30-60, followed by those aged 25-30, demonstrating broad appeal across a range of demographics and fitness levels.
