- Thank you for an egg-traordinary collection!
This year, customers and employees at BH Live Active leisure centres across Dorset and Hampshire, have donated more than 620 chocolate eggs to be enjoyed over this Easter weekend at local children’s hospices run by charities Julia’s House and Naomi House and Jacksplace.
Across the BCP region, collections have taken place at Littledown, Pelhams Park, Stokewood, Sir David English and BH Live Active Corfe Mullen. In Portsmouth customers and staff donated at Mountbatten Leisure Centre and Pyramids.
Julia’s House, and Naomi House and Jacksplace were chosen by the BH Live Active team in support of the work the charities do for local children and their families.
This campaign is typical of BH Live’s mission as a registered charity and social enterprise to support the communities it serves. On behalf of BH Live, Rob Cunningham, Associate Director for Leisure said,
“We have been blown away by the generosity of our customers and team. Over the last two weeks, they have been helping to build a mountain of chocolate eggs which are being shared out this weekend with local children and their families by the wonderful teams at Julia’s House in Corfe Mullen (Poole), and Naomi House and Jacksplace in Portsmouth. A massive thank you to everyone who has supported this collection.”
Naomi House & Jacksplace provide expert hospice care to more than 550 life-limited and life-threatened children, young adults, and families from central southern England. When collecting the eggs for Naomi House and Jacksplace, Peter Abrahams, Head of Supporter Services and Insight commented,

Julia’s House is a children’s hospice located in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, providing vital respite care for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families, at the hospice, in the family home or out and about in the local community. On behalf of the fundraising team at Julia’s House, Katie Thompson added,
“A huge thank you not only to the people who donated when joining, but also to the kindness of the people who made a donation in kind. When we dropped the eggs off this evening, the joy and surprise on the children’s faces was simply incredible. The eggs this year will be used in lots of different ways like baking, craft activities and Easter egg hunts – so everyone can join in. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed.”
