- Junior Swimming Lessons
Our junior swimming lessons follow the Swim England Learn to Swim framework Stages 1-7 supporting children to become competent, confident, and safe in the water.
At each stage, swimmers will develop water confidence, safety skills, and swimming strokes through a fun approach to Learn to Swim.
For children aged 4 – 13 years
Stage 1
Our first stage for non-swimmers. Previous experience and water confidence not required.

Stage 2
For water confident non-swimmers who can float, submerge, and jump in independently.

Stage 1 & 2 (8 years+)
For non-swimmers over the age of 8. Classes take place in appropriate water depth to ensure they can develop their fundamental skills.

Stage 3
For water confident children who can independently and without aids, travel 5 metres on their front and back on the surface.

Stage 4
For children who can confidently travel 10 metres unaided on their front and back showing basic skills in kick and streamlining as well as being able to perform rotations.

Stage 5
For children who can competently swim 10 metres showing basic swimming strokes and perform efficient kicks in all four strokes.

Stage 6
For children who can proficiently swim 10 meters front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly and able to perform efficient sculling and treading water skills.

Stage 7
For Children that can efficiently swim 20 metres in full strokes with correct breathing techniques and able to perform a range of personal survival skills.

Aquatic Skills Stages
Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework (Learn to Swim Stages 8-10) are about building sport specific skills to encourage focus on aquatic sports.
Children can continue to develop their swimming skills through Stages 8-10 or try an alternative aquatic discipline such as Water Polo or Synchronised Swimming. (Subject to availability at venue).
Stage 8
For children who have achieved all 7 Stages of the Learn to Swim Framework and can confidently and efficiently swim 25 metres in all four strokes. They can also perform a 100-metre continuous swim showing a range of strokes.

Stage 9 and 10
For children who are looking to develop stroke technique, speed and endurance and who can efficiently swim 50 metres in three strokes and perform a 400-metre continuous swim in one stroke.

Water Polo
For children that have completed Stage 7. Working towards Swim England Stages 8, 9 & 10 of the Water Polo framework covering skills and friendly gameplay.

Synchronised Swimming
For children that have completed Stage 7. Working towards Swim England Stages 8, 9 & 10 of the Artistic Swimming framework covering essential skills and fun routines.

Junior Swim Fit
For children aged nine and over who have completed a minimum of Stage 8. Focuses on fitness, involves swimming lengths to develop stamina and drills to improve stroke technique.
