Welcome to the Southampton Outdoor Sports Centre, a 56-acre community space dedicated to keeping people active. 
A multi-million pound upgrade is currently underway. The Alpine Snowsports Centre is temporarily closed for improvements, which include a single-storey ski lodge with a reception, changing facilities, kit store and toilet facilities. There will also be an extension to the learner slope and resurfacing of the ski slopes with new ski lifts and lighting. Coming soon….new artificial training pitches!
Supporting a variety of formats including 11v11, 9v9, 7v7 and 5v5, with all associated goals.
Bookings are open to clubs, teams, schools and community groups. Daytime pay-as-you-play sessions will also be available, with booking slots from 9am onwards. Regular evening and block booking slots will also be available, but are currently in high demand with limited availability. In addition, there are two sand-based synthetic pitches primarily used for hockey, with Southampton Hockey Club.

Artificial Training Pitches

Outdoor tennis and netball courts are available for matches, training and casual usage interchangeably at Southampton Outdoor Sports Centre. The courts provide flexible space suitable for individuals, clubs, teams, schools and community group bookings. Courts can be hired on an hourly basis – tennis sessions and prices are online and the BH Live Active app.

Tennis & Netball Courts

Two 9v9 grass pitches are available here for match play and training.

Grass Football Pitches

The outdoor athletics track is open for club training, events and casual community use. There’s an 8-lane track with full field event provision, including jumps, throws and steeplechase. The track is home to Southampton Athletics Club and supports a wide range of training and competition activity. Bookable club and group training slots are available during the evenings, with the track available to hire on either an exclusive or shared-use basis.

For casual use, the track is open from 9am daily and offers pay-as-you-go sessions for both adults and concessions – sessions are listed and bookable on the BH Live Active app.

Athletics Track

Available to just turn up! No booking or additional notice is required. Bring your own bike, and try out your tricks!

BMX Track

During the season (typically May–August), grass cricket squares and outfields are available for club matches and community use. The site accommodates both junior and senior formats. Seasonal club hire is prioritised, with limited casual availability.
Grass and artificial wickets are available and hire the pitches out for either 20 over 40 overs+.
